Welcome to Michael’s Positive Thoughts! Each week, it will be my goal to give at least 3 reasons to be optimistic going into the upcoming Dolphins game. Some weeks, it will be much easier than others. However, I hope you will take the time to hear me out, and please respond however you see fit. Let’s get started:

1. Jay Cutler’s Performance against the Raiders- Per ESPN, Cutler’s stat line is as follows: 34 completions/ 42 attempts, 311 yards, 3 touchdowns, 0 interceptions, and a rating of 121.3. The fact that we got this kind of performance from him, and we lost, is a real bummer. However, it is a positive sign that he is coming into form and could have a big second half of the year.

2. Kenyan Drake and Damien Williams- When you combine the statistics of these two backs, they had a pretty darn good game: 16 carries, 83 yards; 12 receptions, 82 yards ( with a very impressive Touchdown catch by Williams). Would I like for them to have a better average on each rush? Absolutely. With that being said, I was very impressed with the flashes I did see throughout the game. As I alluded to last week, we could have our very own ” Slash and Dash ” duo forming in the backfield.

3. Julius Thomas- FINALLY! The tight end that we have waited for all season long made an appearance, and boy did he have a big impact. Was it against a secondary that was heavily banged up? Yes. That does not take away the confidence that he must have gained from having such a solid game.

4. T.J. McDonald and Ted Larsen- These two additions could not have come back to the team at a better time. T.J. coming back from a suspension, and Larsen from an injury. Larsen will be replacing Jesse Davis ( who has been dreadful), and McDonald will join Reshad Jones in the back end and they could be a fantastic duo at safety.

That is all I have for the week. Please let me know what you think, and I hope we find a way to get it done on Monday night.

GO FINS… NOW AND FOREVER.
