It was only 10 days ago, when I was sitting in my one bedroom apartment, and thinking myself: The Dolphins are on the brink of playoff elimination and now we have to play the Patriots. I thought we had very little chance to compete with them (even without Rob Gronkowski,) and I was dead wrong. We finally saw the Jay Cutler that we all have been waiting for, Kenyan Drake ran like a number one running back, and our defense (XAVIEN HOWARD) balled out. Now, the question remains… what happens in the last 3 games of the year? Does this team have what it takes to win out and make a real run at the playoffs? Here are my predictions:
12/17 @ Buffalo Bills-Dolphins 28, Bills 17: Per my article from last week, I am all in on Kenyan Drake. Every time this guy touches the ball I am excited to see what is going to happen. Beyond that, I love the way Jarvis Landry is playing. He is playing like he wants to get paid this off-season, and the team is benefiting from that. On the other side of the ball, I think Charles Harris will come up with a couple of big plays and the secondary will help carry us to a win.
12/24 @ Kansas City Chiefs- Chiefs 24, Dolphins 21: As much as the fan in me want to pick the Dolphins, I just cannot. This is going to be a must-win for both teams and the Kansas City home field advantage is one of the best in the league. Their offensive weapons (Kareem Hunt, Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce) are going to be too much and the Fins will lose a heart-breaker.
12/31 vs. Buffalo Bills-Dolphins 31, Bills 21: The Dolphins finally get back home and take their frustrations of the last week out on the Bills. There is still a real chance that the Dolphins are still in the thick of the playoff race (even with a loss against the Chiefs,) and the team plays like their playoff lives are on the line. The team will have touchdowns from Julius Thomas, Kenyan Drake, and Kenny Sills and the team will coast to an easy win to close out the year 8-8.
Is 8-8 good enough to make the playoffs? That remains to be seen, but hats off to the team. They have rallied to at least make the last month of the season watchable, and for that, I am thankful. I hope everyone has a great weekend, and as always… GO FINS!
