Football is BACK! As a Dolphins fan, I am at a crossroads with how I am feeling about the 2018-2019 season. When you lose the likes of Jarvis Landry, Mike Pouncey, and Ndamukong Suh, there must be questioning of the direction of the organization. However, I am going to air on the side of optimism. As of right now, there is a ton of things to love about this team, and I am going to cover a few of those here:

It appears that Ryan Tannehill is back, and possibly, better than ever. In his first year under head cpacj Adam Gase, RT17 looked darn good. He looked confident, poised, and ready to take this organization to a level it has not seen in quite a long time. The question about health is going to remain until he shows that he is fully back from the knee injury. With that being said, I believe that RT17 is going to have his best year yet. When you look at the weapons that he has (we will get into those weapons shortly), he can very easily have a big year.

The Offensive weapons can be elite. Are there questions concerning these weapons? Yes, but how can the fans not be truly excited about these guys? Kenyan Drake appears to be the real deal, with a fascinating combination of speed and power. The trade of Jarvis Landry allowed the team to bring in Danny Amendola and Albert Wilson, which is an upgrade in my opinion. The team released Julius Thomas and Anthony Fasano and drafted Mike Gesicki (who will be a dramatic upgrade in the red zone scheme). In addition, you have the deadly speed of Kenny Stills, and if he can finally put it all together, DeVante Parker could be the one piece that takes this offense to a whole new level.

Raekwon McMillan is back and can be the best linebacker this team has had since Zach Thomas. If you were to ask any knowledgeable Dolphins fan about one area of the team that has frustrated them the most over the last 5 years, what position do you think they would say? The quarterback would be near the top of that list, but linebacker would not be far behind. I cannot tell you how many times I have yelled and screamed at the television about our LB group is one or two steps behind, and how desperately we needed more speed there. Now, we have McMillan to look forward too. The season has not started yet, but there already tidbits coming out about this kid, and how impressive he has looked. Is this the linebacker we have been waiting for? Can he be the leader of this defense for the next 10 years? I do not know the answer to this question, but I am excited to find out.

The Miami Dolphins Secondary has a chance to be one of the best in the league. When you take a look at our corners ( Xavien Howard, Tony Lippett, Bobby McCain, Cordrea Tankersley ), you cannot help but feel excited. Then, when you look at the Safety Position (Minkah Fitzpatrick, Reshad Jones, and T.J. McDonald ), that position group has a chance to be one of the best in the league. It has been an awfully long time since our defense has had the number of playmakers that we have now.

Adam Gase is our head coach, and he is not going anywhere, anytime soon. Fans can say whatever they would like, but our team is in great hands with Adam Gase. Last season, we had a lot of guys that did not want to conform to Gase’s way, and that was a major issue. I understand we lost a lot of NFL talent, but we were not really tearing the league up with that talent. For this season, he was able to bring in high character guys like Danny Amendola, Frank Gore, Joshua Sitton, and Albert Wilson.

It is officially a new era of Miami Dolphins football, and I for one, am excited to see what this season has in store. What do you think Dolphins fans? As always, GO DOLPHINS!
