A new season, and a new contributor.  Mike has passed the reigns down to me.  Many of you who read articles on this site as well as listen to the podcasts know I am an avid football fan.  But I also like to dive into the gambling field and review some games.  Remember, I am NOT a bookie or anyone who GUARANTEES anything.   This is an opinion article with insight.  You can trust me or not.  Gambling is fun and making picks against the spread makes it more compelling.  So that is the intro to this season.  Now let’s get into the games.

Note: Each week I will offer 4 college games and a lock pick within those 4.  Starting in Week 2, I will introduce 3 NFL games as well.

Boston College (-17.5) vs UMass

Boston College opens their 2018 campaign against 1-0 UMass.  Boston College should easily cover as AJ Dillon (RB) should have a field day.  Their defensive line should push around UMass’ OL and limited their attack through the air.

FAU (+20) @ Oklahoma

Even though FAU comes in as under dogs, and a question mark of who the starting QB will be, Kiffin will have them ready to go.  I think this game will be close as both running backs Rodney Anderson (OK) and Devin Singletary (FAU) will move the sticks.  20 just seems to high for a Lane Kiffin group that went  11-3 and are fired up to prove they are not a fluke.

Washington/Auburn UNDER 49

In a match up of top 10 teams in the Chick-Fil-A Kickoff, Washington and Auburn essentially have their college football playoff hopes on the line.  Auburn has a power house defense that should be matched with the speed and athleticism of Washington.  I love the under in this game.

WVU (-9.5) @ Tennessee – LOCK PICK OF THE WEEK

West Virginia comes into this season with high aspirations.  Tennessee is in a full rebuild.  Will Grier and David Sills V will pace this offense and their rebuilt defense should be one of the better ones in the Big 12, but they will do more t han enough to beat Tennessee at a mutual field today.  LOCK!
