Another ho-hum week 4 for me. 2-2 in college football and 1-2 in NFL. I promise to get this ship righted this week! Lets start off with College football, as there are quite a few intriguing games to look forward to:
Syracuse (+25) @ Clemson
Clemson made a change at QB and with some uncertainty going into the game for the # 3 team in the country. Syracuse has been playing fantastic on both sides of the ball and if Eric Dungey can stay healthy all game, covering 25 seems like a given.
Oklahoma vs Baylor- OVER 68.5
Both teams average a combined 80 points per game. Both defenses allow near 400 yards per game. I smell a shootout brewing. Kyler Murray and Oklahoma should put up a ton on their own but Baylor has had success throwing the ball down field this season. Take the over
Louisville (+6) vs Florida State
I am not sold on either of these teams. Florida State Hasn’t beaten anybody of substance and Louisville is struggling with QB play. All in all I see this game close to the finish as both offenses STINK. Take Louisville at home with the points.
Stanford (+5) @ Notre Dame- Lock Pick of the Week
Stanford getting more than a field goal seems like a gift. Their offense has been good through 4 games. Notre Dame has picked up the pace after a change at QB. Being a rivalry game and Stanford getting more than a FG, seems too good to be true. LOCK IT IN.
Season record: 10-6
NFL
Miami (+6.5) @ New England
I hate doing this. I really do. But the Patriots don’t have an identity nor pass catchers to blow anyone out. The Dolphins are 3-0 and have been great all season and have covered the spread in all three of their games this season. They may lose a tight one, but the Dolphins won’t lose with the spread.
Oakland (-150) vs Cleveland- straight pick
Yes, it’s Baker Mayfield’s first start. Yes, the Raiders forget how to play football in the 4th quarter. I just feel like this is a game for the taking for the Raiders and they get Gruden his first win.
Chargers (-10.5) vs San Francisco
The 49ers are starting CJ Beatherd. Are you waiting for me to write more? Okay. The Chargers will torch this team for 30+ in a rout. I just can’t see the 49ers who are banged up and with a back up QB the rest of the season amount any scoring against an aggressive defense.
Season Record 3-6
