Two transactions happened within days of each other for the Miami Dolphins back in the beginning of October. Former DT Jordan Phillips was released on October 2, 2018. Three days later, TE Nick O’Leary who been on the Dolphins practice squad for about 2 weeks after being released by the Buffalo Bills, was promoted to the active roster. After Phillips was released, the Buffalo Bills immediately picked him up. There’s been a lot of negativity circling the Miami Dolphins past couple of months. Ironically, around the same time we picked up our division rivalry’s garbage. But, you know what they say, one team’s trash is another team’s treasure.

O’Leary did not play for the Buffalo Bills this year. I guess, they couldn’t find a role for him. He was given his outright release on September 1, 2018.

He has helped the Dolphins some since they got him. Currently, O’Leary has 7 receptions for 77 yards and one TD.

Phillips in his first 4 games with the Dolphins had a sack, 4 tackles, 1 TFL, 3 QB Hits, 1 pass breakup.

In his last 7 games with the Bills he currently has 11 Tackles, 2 pass breakups and 2 TFLs. I’m gonna say, it’s pretty even for both players because both are having an impact with their new teams but I wouldn’t say it’s substantially better than what they did for the teams that drafted them.

The Dolphins play their first game against the Buffalo Bills this Sunday. Will either one of these guys have a big game against their former team? We will have to wait and see.
