This Day in Dolphins History: February 18 1970, Joe Robbie Hires Don Shula as the Miami Dolphins Head Coach and gives him 10% ownership of the team. Shula was also made a Vice President of the Dolphins with this deal. Joe Robbie turned to Shula after failing to sign Bear Bryant and Ara Parseghian.
