On Sunday evening the Miami Dolphins signed former QB (now WR) Kai Locksley. Locksley was a quarterback at UTEP and he was teammates with current Miami Dolphins cornerback Nik Needham. At UTEP Locksley threw for 2,266 yards, 9 TD’s and 14 INT’s and he completed 53% of his passes. He did run for 11 TD’s and 875 yards in 2018 and 2019 combined. Locksley has moved to WR and will try to make the Dolphins at that position and not at quarterback.

Locksley was suspended by UTEP in 2019 after he was arrested for a number of offenses, including gun charges and making terroristic threats. Locksley was pulled over for driving under the influence, being in possession of marijuana, and unlawful carrying of a weapon, and also making terroristic threats.
Kai Locksley is the son of University of Maryland head coach Mike Locksley.
Humbled. Blessed. Appreciative.
For the opportunity to be a

What a difference with how Wilson left the phins and how Kai is approaching his opportunity. At least it looks like one young man learned from his experiences. Good luck Kai!
Great Size at 6’4″. Not great speed at 4.58 40. In theory, similar to Preston Williams like. He’s been out of football for a year. He went to minicamp tryouts with the texans last year. This looks like a minimum deal with no risk. QB’s are usually pretty smart and can transition to other positions, like a Kordell Stewart or a Patrick Surtain. We’ll see if he is a practice squader or something more.
WR is pretty deep on the dolphins, with Wilson, Hurns, Fuller, and Foster as new guys already, so I’m not expecting him to make the team.
I say let him compete. Not a lot of people know he lost his brother a few years back and that grieving process can cause you to get messed up until you learn to deal with it. He made mistakes… so do a lot of others. Give him the opportunity…
Go Kai!!
