Per Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, the Dolphins, and CBS-4 South Florida has hired Steve Goldstein to call Miami Dolphins preseason games on television this season. With the Dolphins only having 3 preseason games total, and one being on national television Goldstein will call the first two games that will air in South Florida locally.

Goldstein is a Syracuse University alumn and has worked in South Florida for close to 30 years. He has been a radio host on The Joe Rose Show on 560 WQAM, more than 10 years ago he was the Dolphins pre and post game show radio show host on their radio network, and since 2007 he has been the voice of the Florida Panthers on Bally Sports Florida (formerly known as Fox Sports Florida). Goldstein will be paired up with Hall of Fame defensive end and Miami Dolphins legend Jason Taylor on the TV broadcasts.

He is replacing legendary play-by-play announcer Dick Stockton (also a Syracuse University alumn) who recently retired from broadcasting. Goldstein does have experience calling football play-by-play as he did so in college for Syracuse University football on the college station.

Goldstein will call the first preseason game Aug 14th at Chicago and August 21st at home vs the Atlanta Falcons.

The radio play-by-play team will continue to be Jimmy Cefalo and Joe Rose for the preseason. With Jason Taylor joining them on the radio once the regular season begins.
