Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network is reporting the Dolphins are hiring Chargers run game coordinator and offensive line coach Frank Smith as their new offensive coordinator.
The #Dolphins are hiring Frank Smith as their offensive coordinator, source said.
Most recently the #Chargers’ run-game coordinator/offensive line coach, Smith has a strong history of developing tight ends and OL — filling a big need in Miami.

Mike McDaniel will call plays, but Smith will have the job of game planning and putting together the offense. Prior to being the Chargers run game coordinator and offensive line coach he was the tight ends coach for the Raiders and the Saints assistant offensive line coach.
