The Miami Dolphins placed the franchise tag on tight end Mike Gesicki Tuesday morning. 4pm today was the deadline to place the tag on any player.
Gesicki will make $10.93 million this upcoming season under the franchise tag. Miami may try to work out a long term deal with him to lower his cap number and lock him up for future years.
This move now leaves Miami with about $50 million in salary cap space.
