The Miami Dolphins scouting department is hard at work getting ready for the 2025 NFL draft. During the fall, each weekend, scouts for NFL teams are spread out across the country, looking at the best juniors and seniors who will be entering the upcoming draft.
This week, though, we have reports on where some of the Dolphins scouts are and which games they attend.
Crissy Ford, who covers college football and the NFL for Sports Illustrated, said the Miami Dolphins had scouts at the Georgia-Mississippi State game Saturday afternoon.

Chapel Fowler, who covers Clemson for The State Newspaper in South Carolina, reports the Dolphins had a senior national scout at the Clemson-Wake Forest game Saturday.

These are all Power Four schools in the big conferences, so it is not surprising that the Dolphins have people on-site at these games. Clemson and Georgia are two of the most talent-rich football programs in America, and I am sure Miami paid extra close attention to those teams as they will both have numerous people drafted.
The Dolphins may be in the market for a new quarterback to build around, depending on whether Tua Tagovailoa is able to stay healthy when he returns this year and continues his NFL career beyond this year. Or, Miami may want to draft a young quarterback in the early rounds to be a competent backup to Tua moving forward as well.
Carson Beck of Georgia is expected to go in Round 1 of the upcoming draft, and Cade Klubnik of Clemson may enter the draft and leave school after this season, is also an interesting prospect who will be drafted in the early rounds as well (although not expected to go in Round 1).
Klubnik threw for 309 yards and 3 touchdowns vs Wake Forest.
Beck threw for 459 yards and 3 touchdowns vs Mississippi State.
If Miami decides to move on from Tua, if they opt out of his contract and release him prior to March 14, 2025, the Dolphins are off the hook for $54 million. If he is on the Dolphins roster, that $54 million is fully guaranteed for the 2026 season, meaning Miami will not move on from him until after the 2026 season at that point.
