Dolphins Fans Have Done Their Job, Now It’s Time for the Organization to Do Its

Another Miami Dolphins season is upon us, and once again, Dolphins fans are all bought in with high expectations for a good season that results in making the playoffs and maybe finally winning that elusive playoff game.

Yes, the Dolphins currently have the longest drought of all NFL teams without winning a playoff game.

They haven’t won a playoff game since December 30, 2000.

They haven’t won the AFC East since 2008.

And yes, the Dolphins have lost six straight times to the Buffalo Bills, and are 1-13 in their last 14 meetings with Buffalo.

All of that aside, Dolphins fans have bought up all of the season ticket packages for this season at record prices.

If you want season tickets, get your ass on the waiting list; it may be a while.

Dolphins fans, despite their complaints about the current logo, continue to buy up all the new merchandise that comes out with it.

Don’t believe me? Go to Fanatics and see how much of the “new stuff” is sold out in specific sizes just weeks after it’s been put on sale.

And now, Dolphins fans are all in on the new Rivalries uniforms and are waiting until September 10th, when they go on sale, to max out their credit cards to buy all of that up.

Through 25 years of ups and downs (mostly downs), Dolphins fans have shown up, spent good, hard-earned money, and in some cases traveled to support this team at home and on the road.

Not to mention a small army of Dolphins fans on social media every day attacks national reporters and media members who dare criticize the Dolphins in any way, no matter how fair or accurate the criticism may be, almost as if it’s their full-time job to defend the Dolphins’ honor.

The Dolphins fan base has been loyal beyond belief, and maybe to a fault, where they have been taken for granted by the organization.

No rational human can look at the last 25 years of support this organization has gotten from this fan base and say that Dolphins fans haven’t done their part.

Dolphins fans HAVE done their part.

Dolphins fans have gone above and beyond doing their part.

Game after game, season after season.

No matter the results, no matter how many crushing losses, this Dolphins fan base shows up and supports this organization with its time and its money.

Miami Dolphins fans have done their part.

So now the question is: WHEN WILL THE DOLPHINS ORGANIZATION DO THEIR PART?

The fan base has held up their end of the bargain of this public trust; when will you (speaking to Mr. Ross, the coaches, and the players)?

No rational fan expects the team to win the Super Bowl every year, but going 25 years without winning a playoff game is unacceptable.

And listening to Chris “Hey, don’t look at me, I’m only the GM” Grier talk last week about a financial reset taking place this season, all Dolphins fans should have been insulted.

Reset from what? Losing? Underachieving? Never producing real results?

Asking Dolphins fans to have “patience” still after all of this time is laughable.

This fan base has been patient enough.

Nobody with the Dolphins organization or in the media should criticize any Dolphins fan for being skeptical or pessimistic heading into this season.

This Dolphins fanbase is Charlie Brown, and the organization is Lucy pulling the football before he kicks it.

Eventually, Charlie Brown is gonna stand up and say, WTF!

At the end of last season, the Dolphins (for some unknown reason) issued a press release stating they would not be firing the head coach and general manager.

Which is always weird, imagine going to work tomorrow and your boss at your job sends out a company-wide memo to everyone announcing that they didn’t fire you.

The owner, Stephen Ross, after the final game last season, also said something to the effect that the Status Quo isn’t good enough.

And then they went out and spent no money this offseason, traded away a bunch of draft picks to stockpile picks in 2026, and are depending on rookies everywhere this season.

Mixed messaging to say the least.

Here is the long and short of it.

Dolphins fans are tired of excuses at this point.

Dolphins fans don’t want to hear about “the process.”

Dolphins fans want results.

If the Dolphins lose to the Colts this weekend, the last thing any Dolphins fan wants to hear is, “It’s only Week 1, don’t overreact.”

I don’t think that narrative will fly with a lot of Dolphins fans these days, especially in this moment, in this time we are at right now, on the brink of the 2025 season.

Dolphins fans continue to do their part in supporting this team, and for some who are blind homers, that loyalty and support will always be there. For others who are tired of the same old, same old (or Status Quo), that loyalty and support may not always be there.

Don’t take your fanbase for granted.

This is a good Dolphins fan base.

They have been doing their part for many years; now it’s time for the organization, from the owner to the coaching staff, to Tua, and all the players, to do their part.
