De’Von Achane Asks Fellow Pro Bowlers if they believe they’re Quicker Than Him
Ahead of the 2026 NFL Pro Bowl Games on Tuesday night, Miami Dolphins star running back De’Von Achane asked several fellow Pro Bowl participants one question: Do they believe they are faster than him? According to the responses he received, it appears that Achane is widely regarded as one of the speediest players in the game among his peers.
On Monday, the Dolphins’ official X account uploaded a video of Achane asking the question to Baltimore Ravens linebacker Roquan Smith, Los Angeles Chargers safety Derwin James, Buffalo Bills running back James Cook, and Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase. Of those four great players he spoke to, none of them said they have the upper hand over Achane in the speed department.

The fact that even Cook doesn’t think he’s as fleet-footed as Achane is particularly notable because he enjoyed a better 2025 season running the ball. Cook paced the NFL in total rushing yards with a whopping 1,621 and also led the league in rushing yards per game. Not only that, but he was named to the All-Pro Second Team while Achane didn’t earn a spot on either of the All-Pro squads.
But Achane still enjoyed a breakout campaign in his third pro season and was a rare bright spot in a season that saw a lot go wrong for Miami. There’s a real argument to be made that he was the Dolphins’ best offensive player, as he totaled 1,350 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns across 16 appearances.
Achane was great all season long, though he played at a particularly high level during the tail end of it. There was a three-game stretch back in November where he racked up 120-plus rushing yards every game, and it’s no coincidence that Miami just so happened to come out on top in all of those contests.
