Greg Dulcich Reveals his Prior ties to Dolphins’ New Starting QB
The past ties between Miami Dolphins tight end Greg Dulcich and quarterback Malik Willis aren’t very apparent at first glance. After all, they were never previously on the same college or high school football team, nor did they grow up in the same area (Dulcich is a California native, while Willis has Georgia roots)
However, the two NFL players did indeed share the field very briefly in a Senior Bowl earlier in the decade. Dulcich pointed out that fact just recently, also calling the Dolphins’ newest starting quarterback a “great player.”
“We played at the Senior Bowl together,” Dulcich said. “We had that little connection which was cool, and when you got a great quarterback like Malik, he does a good job of learning everyone’s tendencies really quickly. He knows how you’re going to run a route just because he’s got great football IQ and he’s a great player.”
The Senior Bowl in question was back in 2022, and both players participated in that game after standout collegiate seasons. Dulcich posted 517 yards receiving and was an out-of-this-world deep-ball threat, averaging a gargantuan 19.9 yards per reception as a sophomore at UCLA. Willis, on the other hand, threw for nearly 3,000 yards and 27 touchdowns, the latter of which marked the most from any signal-caller playing for an independent school.
Just months after Dulcich and Willis appeared in the Senior Bowl, they were both drafted in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Dulcich heard his name called first, as the Denver Broncos picked him No. 80 overall. Fast forward six picks later to No. 86 overall, and the Tennessee Titans picked Willis.
After all these years removed from teaming up in the Senior Bowl, Willis and Dulcich have finally teamed up at the highest level on the Dolphins, and they could potentially form quite the offensive tandem in 2026. There’s a real chance that Willis will turn to Dulcich in the air early and often, as the latter is clearly the Dolphins’ most talented option at tight end.
Dulcich provided the Dolphins with a steady hand in the receiving department across the second half of the 2025 season, totaling multiple receptions in all but one of the team’s final nine contests.
