Miami Signs WR Who Was a Former 1st Round Pick

Miami Signs WR Who Was a Former 1st Round Pick

As Miami is in the thick of OTA’s, they have decided to make another signing at the wide receiver position. They have signed receiver Jalen Reagor, a former 1st round selection in the 2020 NFL draft by the Philadelphia Eagles. Reagor was out of football last season.

The former TCU standout has had a rough go in the professional circuit after a dominant few years with the Horned Frogs. He initially struggled as a rookie with inconsistencies and injuries. Year 2 was better in most categories, but Reagor struggled with drops and made his best contributions on special teams.

He then went to 3 teams in 3 seasons: the Vikings, the Patriots, and the Chargers, most recently in 2024.

His most recent campaign was unimpressive, but he did serve as a quality backup receiver for the Chargers, where he recorded 100 yards in 8 games.

He played 28% of offensive snaps in those games. Reagor spent the bulk of 2025 without a team, but was signed to the Chargers’ practice squad a couple of times.

Sadly, Reagor is best known as the selection right before Minnesota selected Justin Jefferson, who is having a Hall of Fame-caliber career.

Miami is currently in flux at receiver. A lot of new faces, and a lot of them are young. Reagor, who has to be hungry and ready to compete, brings in a veteran presence to go along with Jalen Tolbert and TuTu Atwell. From what Miami Dolphins beat reporters are scooping, it heavily favors the defense’s talent and how unstoppable they have been. Miami has a deep running back and quarterback room, so the next logical step would be to add onto the receiver corps.

Reagor offers inside-outside versatility and is an experienced kick returner. He is at a disadvantage joining the team this late in the process, but he has plenty of time to impress the coaches and potentially lock down a roster spot. 2026 is Reagor’s age-27 season. He will have no financial burden on the team and is merely there to provide a potential surprise in a rather youthful and inexperienced bunch.
