This Edge is the Dolphins’ Most Promising Building Block, According to Bleacher Report Writer

When talking about some of the best young players on the Miami Dolphins right now, second-year edge Chop Robinson often gets overlooked.

He has yet to put up flashy numbers to the level running back De’Von Achane has or be quite as impactful as All-Pro center Aaron Brewer (and he also plays on the defensive side of the ball, the less glamorous side), but he could still be vitally important to the Dolphins’ success in the years to come, and one article from Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox reflects that.

In an article identifying the most promising building block for every team (in his opinion), Knox put down Robinson for the Dolphins.

Robinson already has quite an impressive NFL resume at the age of 23. He’s logged 32 games played (four starts) as a Dolphin and has accumulated 10 sacks in that time. Six of those sacks came in his rookie season in 2024, and he ended up in the top five in the Defensive Rookie of the Year voting for his contributions as a neophyte.

Of course, pressuring the quarterback is Robinson’s calling card and something the first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft out of Penn State already does at an above-average level. He wound up in the top four on the team in sacks in both of his first two seasons in Miami.

All signs point to the young man having a big year in 2026 with a new head coach at the helm and a roster around him, too. Head coach Jeff Hafley made it clear recently that the hope is for Robinson to become “an every-down player,” and he had really high praise for his ability to stymie quarterbacks with his pressure.

There’s plenty of pressure on Robinson’s shoulders to enjoy a career year in his third NFL season, and time will tell if he’ll deliver.
