Dolphins Star RB Has Sights Set on Rushing Title in 2026
Not far removed from a marvelous 2025 season with the Miami Dolphins and signing a contract extension that makes him one of the NFL’s highest-paid running backs, De’Von Achane recently set a lofty goal while speaking with some folks at NFL Network.
Not a collective goal related to the Dolphins’ team success (there will be very little in 2026), but rather an individual goal that, should he accomplish it, would firmly put him in the conversation for being the top speedster in the entire league. Specifically, he’s looking to secure the league’s rushing title in the coming campaign and finish tops in the NFL in rushing yards.

Achane, known widely as one of the fastest players in the sport, was pretty darn close to winning that title last season, as he was a nightmare for opposing defenses in his third season and the backbone of Miami’s run game. In fact, his 1,350 rushing yards total was good enough for the fifth-most in the NFL. And he was less than 300 yards away from the title-winner, Buffalo Bills star James Cook III, while playing one less game than he did.
A rushing title in 2026 is well within reach for Achane, assuming he can continue on his path of incremental growth from season to season. Impressively, his yardage has steadily improved with every passing season in the NFL (from 800 to 907 to, of course, all the way up to more than 1,300 last season), and he’ll be more emboldened to run the ball than ever before in 2026 with all of the money the Dolphins are investing in him.
Here’s hoping that Achane will add a rushing title to his resume at the end of the 2026 season, as that would make for a nice consolation prize for what will be a rough season in the win/loss column for the Dolphins.
