The Dolphins Reached out to Stefon Diggs and Had Interest
Adam Schefter is reporting that the Miami Dolphins, Las Vegas Raiders, and Kansas City Chiefs reached out to Stefon Diggs and had interest in signing the free agent WR before he decided to sign with the Washington Commanders.
The Dolphins’ WR room is one of the weakest in the entire NFL, so it isn’t surprising they inquired about Diggs.
With the Dolphins showing interest in Diggs, it raises the question of whether they would be interested in another free-agent WR out there, like Keenan Allen?

Few wide receivers in the NFL over the past decade have been as productive or as dynamic as Stefon Diggs.
Since entering the league in 2015, Diggs has consistently proven that draft position doesn’t define greatness. Selected in the fifth round, he has developed into one of the most accomplished receivers of his generation, earning multiple Pro Bowl selections, All-Pro honors, and establishing himself as one of the league’s premier route runners.
From Maryland Star to NFL Draft Sleeper
Stefon Diggs played his college football at the University of Maryland, where he quickly became one of the Terrapins’ most exciting offensive weapons. Despite battling injuries during his collegiate career, his explosive playmaking ability, speed, and precise route running were evident whenever he stepped on the field.
Those injuries, however, caused his draft stock to slide. In the 2015 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings selected Diggs with the 146th overall pick in the fifth round. It would go down as one of the biggest steals of the draft.
Early Success in Minnesota
Diggs wasted little time making an impact.
As a rookie, he became one of Teddy Bridgewater‘s favorite targets, finishing with 52 receptions for 720 yards despite starting only 13 games. His polished route running immediately separated him from many young receivers around the league.
Over the next several seasons, Diggs formed one of the NFL’s best receiving duos alongside Adam Thielen. His production steadily increased, recording back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons in 2018 and 2019.
The Minneapolis Miracle
The defining moment of Diggs’ Vikings career came during the 2017 NFC Divisional Playoff against the New Orleans Saints.
With just seconds remaining and Minnesota trailing, quarterback Case Keenum found Diggs along the sideline. Saints defensive back Marcus Williams missed the tackle, allowing Diggs to sprint untouched into the end zone for a 61-yard game-winning touchdown.
The play instantly became known as the “Minneapolis Miracle” and remains one of the most iconic moments in NFL playoff history.
Becoming a Superstar in Buffalo
Following the 2019 season, Diggs requested a trade, seeking a larger role in an offense built around his talents.
The Buffalo Bills acquired him before the 2020 season, and the move completely changed the trajectory of both Diggs’ career and quarterback Josh Allen‘s development.
In his first season with Buffalo, Diggs led the entire NFL with:

His immediate chemistry with Allen transformed the Bills into one of the league’s most explosive offenses and helped Buffalo reach the AFC Championship Game.
Over four seasons with the Bills, Diggs posted:

During that stretch, he became one of the most feared receivers in football thanks to his elite route running, dependable hands, and ability to create separation against virtually any defender.
A New Chapter in Houston
In 2024, Buffalo traded Diggs to the Houston Texans, pairing him with young quarterback C.J. Stroud.
The move generated significant excitement, giving Houston one of the NFL’s deepest receiving corps. Unfortunately, Diggs’ season was cut short after suffering a torn ACL midway through the year. He finished with 47 receptions, 496 yards, and three touchdowns before the injury ended his campaign.
Rebounding with New England
Diggs signed with the New England Patriots for the 2025 season, looking to prove he could still perform at an elite level after recovering from his ACL injury.
He responded with another outstanding campaign, recording:

1,013 receiving yards
4 touchdowns
It marked his seventh 1,000-yard season in eight years and demonstrated that he remained one of the NFL’s most reliable veteran receivers.
