Last weeks victory over the San Diego Chargers was one of the most thrilling and exciting victories the Dolphins have had in decades. Well this Dolphins team topped themselves this week with a more thrilling victory in Los Angeles.

For 56 minutes this Dolphins offense was as bad a unit as we have ever seen. Not only was Mike Pouncey and Branden Albert out for this game, just before halftime Laremy Tunsil hurt his shoulder and missed the rest of the game. Miami was down their 3 best offensive linemen and the other 2 (James and Bushrod) aren’t exactly super players. The offense struggled and it wasn’t pretty.

Then, oh but then with about 5 minutes left Jeff Fisher did something only Jeff Fisher would do.  Fisher with a comfortable 10pt lead at home in the rain tried a long field goal instead of just punting the ball and making Miami move the length of the field. Of course his kicker misses the field goal, Miami’s sideline gets pumped and now the Fins have life. The Fins, who hadn’t converted a 3rd down all day and Tannehill with less than 60 yards passing, all of a sudden looked like a new team. Tannehill was on fire and they march down the field for a touchdown. The defense gets a nice stop and Miami gets the ball back quickly and yep, you guess it Tannehill continues to stay hot and leads Miami down the field for the game winning score. How hot was Tannehill at the end of the game you ask; he completed his last 11 passes for 108 yards.

THANK YOU JEFF FISHER!

This win is big…it’s really big. As I said in my article late last week, style points were out the window in this game. Miami was down their 2 best offensive linemen and were forced to stay on the west coast the entire week instead of flying home in-between games. Not ideal to say the least and they were facing a Top 5 defense in the NFL. I said like a thief in the knight just escape LA with a win and get the hell outta there.  And the Dolphins did just that.

What does this mean now, well it was a very good Sunday for the Fins. Not only did they win but KC and Baltimore lost. Now if Houston can beat Oakland on Monday Night this will be the perfect weekend for the Dolphins. The playoffs are very realistic people, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. This Dolphins team is hot as a pistol right now and they have a legit chance at the playoffs.

Now, Mike Pouncey should be back next week and Branden Albert should only miss 2 more games. Fingers crossed on Laremy Tunsil as Miami needs him back badly. Other than that the Fins should be getting Xavien Howard back at CB soon so the secondary should get a boost there.

This is it Dolphins fans, this year has turned and it is exciting as hell every week. A 5 game winning streak with now a home game against San Francisco who is maybe the worst team in the league. There is no reason Miami shouldn’t win next week.

Oh and Dolphins fans in the South Florida area…..YOU BETTER SELL OUT THAT STADIUM NEXT WEEK! This team has won 5 in a row, has a shot for the playoffs so there is no excuse not to pack that stadium and give the Fins a huge home field advantage.

Our Team, Our House, Our Year! Let’s fill Hard Rock Stadium and keep the momentum going!
