Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network is reporting the Miami Dolphins are receiving phone calls from numerous teams who want to trade up to the 6 spot in Round 1 of next week’s draft that Miami currently holds. Rapoport is reporting it is something Miami is considering at this time.

The Dolphins started with the #3 selection in Round 1 of the Draft and then traded with San Francisco to move down to the 12th position for two future 1st round picks and a 3rd round pick in 2022. The Dolphins then turned around and traded their own 2022 1st round pick to Philadelphia to move up to the 6th spot in this year’s draft. If they were to move down again they would need at least a 2022 first-rounder back to recoup what they gave up to move up from 12 to 6 and then more depending on how far they would be moving down.

Depending on how far the Dolphins were to trade down they could likely take themselves out of selecting one of the big 4 pass catches in this year’s draft (Kyle Pitts, Ja’Marr Chase, Devonta Smith, and Jaylen Waddle). Which would force Miami to go in a different direction in how they rebuild and revamp this offense heading into the 2021 season.
