NFL Insider Jordan Schultz is reporting that the Miami Dolphins have signed free agent DT Teair Tart. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed at this time. Tart just turned 27 in February and has played for Tennessee and Houston since entering the league after going undrafted in 2020. He played college football at three schools, his final school was Florida International.
In 2020, Tart was suspended for one game for stepping on a Cleveland Browns player in a game.
In 2022, he started 16 games for the Titans, had one interception and 1.5 sacks with 34 tackles. In 2023, he played for both Houston and the Titans, started 9 games, had 21 tackles, and had 1 sack.
On December 16th, 2023, the Titans released Tart, and he was claimed by Houston, where he finished out the season. Tart claims he requested to be released from the Titans, the Titans claim they let him go because there were issues with Tart’s attitude and playing effort.
Now in Miami, he will compete with many other recently signed defensive linemen to replace Raekwon Davis and Christian Wilkins.
