Chris Simms of NBC sports had some strong opinions and thoughts on Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and where he ranks next to another rookie quarterback Justin Herbert. Watch below to what Chris Simms had to say regarding the young Miami Dolphins quarterback now that his rookie season is complete.
Rubbish. Tua was injured during what short preseason Miami had. He did fine when Parker, Gesicki and Williams were there. What Miami needs is more weapons. Faster running backs. Parker is injured too much. Miami needs Smith and Harris from Alabama for starters.
Damn, what an assessment and so freakin’ early too ! Give the kid a full season won’t you ??? I give props to Justin Herbert, but he was thrust in early and has better weapons throughout. He did not have a busted hip to rehab, he was in a good spot and made the most of it. I applaud him. I always liked him. However, it is far too premature to anoint Justin Herbert as simply better than Tua, and that the point is mute now, as Simms says here. Waaayyyy too early for that mess. Chris Simms was a QB himself, and though not a good one, he certainly knows of the position and what it takes. I can respect his points here, but again, way too early man. Tua will come out shining next year with no rehab to take his focus, more playbook and film time, another year of 3 rookie linemen to improve, and some “toys” for sure coming to play with this offseason. Perhaps a better comparison can then be made vs Herbert next year at this time. Not now.
Really? Exactly how many games did the Chargers win again…..? I’ll wait….?
Peyton Manning went 3-13 his rookie season. Wins and losses have nothing to do with how well a rookie QB plays, especially since a rookie QB that’s drafted early in round 1 usually comes to a bad team. The Dolphins would be in the playoffs right now if Justin Herbert was their quarterback. Take off your teal and orange tinted glasses.
Numbers speak for themselves. How many times was Tua replaced mid game?
How many times was Tua benched? How many games did Miami’s defense win games for them. Tua didn’t do anything. Throwing for under 100 yards doesn’t cut it!
